So, I’m one of those users that goes to Gmail by just opening his browser and clicking the gmail link in the www.google.com website…

Now since the beginning of December Google introduced something that they call ‘usability’ of the start page but that only annoys me.. I mean the fade-in that you get of the little blue links in the top of the page. You might say: “come on! Who uses those links now? Everybody has bookmarks, delicious, Gmail notifiers, email clients!”. It’s true but I prefer homogeneous interfaces in all the computers I go to and for some reason clicking that little blue Gmail link in the top left does the trick for me!

So, I wanted to get rid of that annoying slowdown that caused me to loose minutes in a day.. and went on the hunt and found these fantastic resource http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2009/12/disable-googles-fade-in-animation.html

The best trick that I found is to change your homepage to http://www.google.com/firefox and you have a nice and fast start page without fade-in animations of those handy shortcuts! ;-)
